Alone on Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving often brings memories of joy and family for many, but it can become a lonely and sad time when friends have moved away, children live far across the country, and a spouse has passed away. You might know a neighbor alone this year or someone dealing with health issues that keep them homebound.

I believe that helping others and human companionship are the best remedies for grief and sadness. That's why Make Bullhead Better and Tri-State Community Healthcare have decided to offer support.

We can't accomplish this on our own; it takes many people to prepare 200 meals. We need partnerships with local businesses and volunteer organizations, and that's exactly what we've done.
Make Bullhead Better is collaborating with Laughlin Ranch Golf Club to prepare 100 meals, with funding provided by Shamrock Foods, Bullhead Print & Ship, and community member Mike Michalka.

Volunteers will package the meals into individual containers, which will then be delivered by our team of volunteers to homebound individuals at their front doors. These meals are available to those in Laughlin, NV, Bullhead City, Fort Mohave, and Mohave Valley.
If you live in one of the following locations and you are homebound, sign up to have a meal delivered to you.
Bullhead
Laughlin
Fort Mohave
Mohave Valley

Tri-State Community Healthcare saw our efforts and wanted to replicate the idea for homebound individuals in Needles, CA. We reached out to the Needles Women's Club, who contacted Needles High School, which agreed to let them use their commercial kitchen to prepare the meals.

We'll need volunteers in Needles to pack and deliver these meals to residents. It's important to note that Needles is a food desert without a grocery store, so these meals will be deeply appreciated.
If you live in Needles, sign up to get food delivered, volunteer to pack up food, and deliver all at this link: https://www.makebullheadbetter.com/needlesthanksgivingdelivered
If you're interested in volunteering at either event, your help would be greatly valued.

This is how we come together, bridge to bridge, to make our communities better places to live. Let's join hands and bring joy and love to our elderly or homebound neighbors today.
If you would like to contribute to this project for next year, you can donate HERE.

When we all work together, we can make all of the communities in the Tri-State better. Thank you for checking on your neighbors this holiday season.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family from all of us at Make Bullhead Better.
