Structure Fire Claims Life

At approximately 12:38 PM today, emergency crews were dispatched to a structure fire at 1515 Goldrush Road, igniting a swift and urgent response in the Bullhead City area. Upon arrival, first responders were met with heavy smoke and active flames engulfing multiple recreational vehicles (RVs).
Responding units included Engines E721, E711, and E751, along with Medics M711, M712, and M751. The operation was overseen by Battalion Chief McCabe, supported by Rehab Unit 719 and Fire Investigators F707 and F709. As crews made their way to the scene, reports of significant black smoke indicated the severity of the situation.

Battalion Chief McCabe established command and immediately initiated an aggressive fire attack strategy. Firefighters worked diligently to contain the blaze to the affected area, which ultimately led to preventing further spread. Despite their rapid response, three RVs were completely destroyed, along with two additional vehicles. Moreover, four nearby units suffered significant heat damage.
One male individual was transported to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center (WARMC) for evaluation due to possible smoke inhalation. In a tragic turn of events, responders discovered the body of an elderly male inside one of the severely damaged RVs, underscoring the devastating impact of the incident.
The American Red Cross has arrived on the scene to provide assistance to those displaced or affected by the fire, helping with shelter and resources for individuals who lost their homes in the destruction.
Authorities confirmed that no additional injuries have been reported.
Fire investigators are currently working diligently to determine the cause of this alarming fire. The community continues to process the event, with many expressing condolences and concern for those impacted in Bullhead City.
