Nancy McLain Prior Arizona State Rep Passes Away.

Born January 17, 1945 - Passed August 11, 2023

Nancy McLain was first elected to the AZ House of Representatives in 2004 and served for 8 years representing District 3. Rep. McLain was the Chairperson of the Banking & Insurance Committee and also served on Appropriations and Transportation.

She specifically requested each of those three committees in each of her terms and was gratified that leadership recognized her abilities and allowed her to serve on them.

Nancy was married to her husband Paul since 1977. (He passed away just a couple of weeks before her passing) They had no children. Prior to Nancy's running for the House, she and Paul loved to travel with their beloved dog Candy.

They owned a successful janitorial services company for over 30 years.

Nancy was very active in Republican politics for many years, both in CA and continuing after their move to AZ.

She served as president of the Victor Valley Republican Women, secretary of the Victor Valley Republican Women, and treasurer of the San Bernardino County Republican Central Committee.

In one year, she was serving in all three capacities at the same time! Once in Arizona, she quickly joined the Colorado River Republican Women and moved up the ranks to become president of that organization, as well as a precinct committeeman and District 2 director of the Mohave County Republican Central Committee.

She has also been involved with community activities, serving as chapter chairman for the American Red Cross in Victorville, on the advisory board of the Laughlin/Bullhead Salvation Army chapter, and was on the board of directors of the Colorado River Concert Association.

Nancy ran for Arizona State Senate in 2012 and lost that race to Kelli Ward. She then served as prior District 5 Supervisor Steve Moss' assistant until Supervisor Ron Gould was elected.
